Independent advisory for private collectors of Impressionist and Modern art.
Working with a small circle of European and North-American collectors on acquisitions,
provenance research and discreet placements — from the Impressionists to the School of Paris.
The practice
The practice is deliberately small and works on the secondary market only: private sales
through the dealer network, representation at auction, and the occasional direct placement
between collections. Each engagement begins with what already hangs in the collection and
where it should be in ten years.
Acquisitions are pursued on a fee-only basis. The practice holds no inventory, takes no
commission from the selling side, and is not affiliated with any gallery or auction house.
Services
Secondary-market acquisition
Sourcing through dealers, private collections and the salerooms on the client’s behalf;
condition, provenance and price review before any commitment.
Provenance & catalogue raisonné research
Verification against the standard catalogues, exhibition histories and archival dealer
stock books, with a written dossier for every work under consideration.
Collection strategy
A long-form review of an existing collection and a measured acquisition plan, including
loans to institutions where a work deserves to be seen.
Discreet sale & placement
Private placement of works between collections, or negotiated consignment terms with the
auction houses, without public exposure.
